The Centre for Medieval Studies of the University of Iceland invites you to a screening of two short animated films by Canadian director, G. Scott MacLeod. They are inspired by Old Norse-Icelandic accounts of women who travelled long distances in the North Atlantic during the Viking era.

The films will be projected Wednesday September 9th at 6 pm in room 101, Oddi on the University of Iceland campus.

The titles of the films are The Indigo Iona Saga and the Settlement of Iceland (30 min.) and Expedition Greenland - Solveig’s Strength and Auðr’s Prosperity (30 min.). They are part of a 3 act animated-live action film series told from a woman’s perspective & explores Norse women via the sagas, history, archaeology & migration patterns of the Vikings,

The Ambassador of Canada to Iceland, Jenny Hill, will say a few words before the screening as will the writer/director G. Scott MacLeod.

    Facebook-event.
