The project 'Sustainable working-life for ageing populations in the Nordic-Baltic region' is a collaborative research initiative funded by NordForsk, concluding in 2026. The project examines how societies can address and adapt to a rapidly aging population alongside declining birth rates and other societal shifts, such as technological advancements, while simultaneously ensuring health and well-being at work. Uppsala University (Sweden) leads the project in partnership with Vilnius University (Lithuania) and the University of Iceland. Other contributors include Riga Stradins University, Tallinn University, and additional partners. The objective is to analyze existing data and provide recommendations on how to support, promote, and improve the working conditions and labor market participation of older adults.

    Lecturers:
Kolbeinn H. Stefánsson, Associate Professor, University of Iceland
Halldór S. Guðmundsson, professor, University of Iceland
Antanas Kairys, professor and Olga Zamalijeva, Associate Professor, Vilnius University
Ieva Reine, leading resercher, Uppsala Univeristy.

The event will start with a get-together and light refreshments in the Nordic House from 12:30 to 13:00. Guests are kindly required to register for refreshments here:
