We welcome you to a panel discussion on the Danish micro publishing scene that has been flourishing during the last two decades. The conversation will include reflections on the effect micropublishers have had on the literary field and comparisons with the situation in Iceland.

Christel Sunesen is behind the small press Ekbátana that has been publishing genre bending quality literature since 2013. Recently, she was part of The Ministry of Culture’s Workgroup for Literature, representing micro publishers.

Lars Emil Foder is a highly original poet and musician with a flair for showmanship and genre hybrids. He has published works with both Ekbátana and other small publishers such as Arkiv for Detaljer.

They are both passionate and dedicated key characters within the Danish micro press scene and are founders of the online small press bookshop Mikrofest and founders and co-organizers of the small press festival Lille Bogdag.

Ana Stanićević is university lecturer at University of Helsinki. She holds a PhD from University of Iceland with a thesis that analysed the 21st century small press scene within all the Nordic countries. As an expert with a unique overview over the field Ana will lead the discussion and draw relevant parallels to Iceland.

There will be a chance to ask questions and join the discussion.

Time and place: Veröld, Heimasvæði (VHV-201). Tuesday 3/3 16.00-17.30
