SHS grant workshop is a course for researchers at SHS and Landspítali in the preparation of competitive grant applications. The course starts at 27th of February 2026 ( at 13-16 with lectures on the preparation and structure of research grant applications, a presentation by the Research Director of the School of Health Sciences on the formal requirements for applications (with an emphasis on IRF), budget instructions, and brainstorming by the participants about the specific goals of their applications.
The workshop will then be followed by 3-4 short individual working sessions, where the participants will receive feedback on their application from experienced grant holders, advice on the budget from the financial team of HVS, with the aim of obtaining successful applications in the spring of 2026. The course is useful for both young (doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows) and more experienced (academic staff) researchers across the health sciences (life sciences, clinical sciences and public health sciences) who want to develop their research program and prepare a funding application. We encourage everyone to participate!
