Abstract:
The Circular Economy: Where, what and why? What is the circular economy and where is it? What is the purpose of it? How can its strength be assessed and how can it be strengthened further? This talk presents doctoral research that approaches the circular economy both as a vision for the future and as an existing reality. It explores how all kinds of circularities manifest in economic and social life, how their strength can be identified and measured, and what opportunities exist to strengthen those circularities further. Together, the studies connect an understanding of what the circular economy is with an examination of its manifestations and how it can best be utilized for dealing with the environmental challenges at hand.
