Saga- 1st floor and library 2nd floor
Thursday, March 26, 2026, Mixtúra will host its annual EdCamp (Menntabúðir) in collaboration with the School of Education at the University of Iceland and other valued partners.
Menntabúðir is a lively and informal gathering where people come together to share ideas, exchange experiences, present projects, and explore new approaches to teaching and learning. It is a space for conversation, inspiration, and connections. Participants may engage in various ways, either by offering a presentation or simply by moving between sessions, exploring, and joining discussions.
The event begins at 14:00 with a grant award ceremony from the Þuríður J. Kristjánsdóttir Grant and Research Fund. Silja Bára Ómarsdóttir, Rector of the University of Iceland, will present the grant on the first floor of Saga. The ceremony will take place alongside the opening of Menntabúðir, which runs from 14:00 to 17:00.
This year, we will place special emphasis on literacy, technology, and creative practices in schools and leisure activities. We warmly invite informal presentations of projects, tools, or educational materials that support children and young people in Iceland.
For example:
- Something you can share that benefits school or leisure activities
- Something connected to literacy in a broad sense
- A teaching approach, tool, or material you use in your work
- A project or solution you are developing
- A well-established or annual project you find valuable
- Anything else you consider useful or inspiring
…and if you are not presenting yourself but know of an especially interesting or outstanding project, we would greatly appreciate your suggestions.
Presenters will have access to a table and wall space upon request. It is not necessary to present for the entire event.

The registration deadline for presentations is March 6, 2026.
