Halldór Geirsson, professor of Geophysics at the University of Iceland, will lead a walk through Búrfellsgjá in Heiðmörk on Sunday, 11 October.

The trip to Búrfellsgjá is a great opportunity to hear from a scientist at the forefront of the dramatic events on the Reykjanes Peninsula in recent years, who shares insights into how Iceland was formed and how the land is still evolving before our eyes.

We will trace past eruptions and explore how volcanic activity shaped the surrounding landscape.

It's important to dress warmly, wear good shoes, and bring a hearty snack.

Participation is free of charge as always, and everyone is welcome!

Departure: At 12 o'clock from the parking lot at Búrfellsgjá.
