RANNUM - the Centre for Research on Information Technology and Media at the University of Iceland’s School of Education - invites you to a seminar on digital transformation in education, focusing on research and development in Switzerland and Iceland.
The seminar’s guest speaker is Ursula Stohler, Scientific Project Manager at the Centre for Education and Digital Transformation at Zurich University of Teacher Education, Switzerland.
Digital Transformation in Education: Zurich Perspectives
Ursula Stohler will introduce the Centre for Education and Digital Transformation and its key research and development priorities. Her presentation will explore the challenges and opportunities that digital transformation presents for education, research and professional practice, and how the Centre connects research, institutional development and educational practice.
Responding to Digital Transformation: Research and Practice in Education in Iceland
Sólveig Jakobsdóttir, Skúlína Hlíf Kjartansdóttir, Tryggvi Brian Thayer and Sigurbjörg Jóhannesdóttir will present RANNUM’s research and activities in their historical context, with a particular focus on recent research into artificial intelligence in education and learning.
The presentations will be followed by an open discussion on what can be learned from the experiences of the two countries and how research can support school development and education in a time of rapid digital change.
About Ursula Stohler
Ursula Stohler leads the scientific work of the Centre for Education and Digital Transformation at Zurich University of Teacher Education. Her areas of expertise include digital transformation in education, European research projects, language teaching and interdisciplinary teaching approaches. She holds a PhD in Russian Studies and has extensive international experience in higher education.
