Óttar Guðbjörn Birgisson defends his PhD thesis in Sport and Health Science from the Faculty of Health Promotion, Sport and Leisure Studies, University of Iceland:

Exploring adolescent mental and physical health and online communication in the early 21st century: Longitudinal and cross-sectional perspectives

The oral defence takes place Friday, September 26th, at 8:30 am in the Aula, main building as well as in live stream.

Opponents are dr. Daryl O’Connor, Professor of Psychology, University of Leeds, UK og dr. Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir professor og director of the Institute of Stress Medicine, Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main supervisor are Dr Erlingur Sigurður Jóhannsson professor at the University of Iceland and co-supervisor Dr Guðrún Sunna Gestsdóttir professor at School of Education, University of Iceland.

Experts in the Doctoral Committee are Dr Mari Hysing, professor at the University of Bergen, Norway and Dr Hege Randi Eriksen, professor at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway.

Dr. Þórdís Lilja Gísladóttir head of the of faculty of Health Promotion, Sport and Leisure Studies will conduct the ceremony.
