September 4th 16:30 – 17:30 at Veröld - House of Vigdís:
All are welcome to attend a live demonstration on the ancient Indian Martial & Healing Art, called Kalarippayat (Kalari), from the state of Kerala. This ancient skill was passed on from word of mouth for generations and evolved alongside Yoga and Ayurveda, consequently sharing elements of both.
Kalari aims to bring peace to worldly conflict – inner and outer. Its practice and treatments create a holistic individual, beginning from physical health, and mental balance and progressing to the unification of the mind, body, and spirit.
About the Presenter - Alana Gregory
Over the years, Alana has lived and trained in Kalarippayat in India. Her background includes environmental science, Hatha Yoga, martial arts, mindfulness and philosophy, which are the foundation of these practices.
Alana is passionate about passing on the philosophies and practices that her teachers passed onto her. She is an advocate for a holistic approach to life and health and is involved in several community health and arts projects. https://www.what--makes.com/
