    A new Database on arbitration court proceedings will be formally opened at a ceremony held by The University of Iceland's Research Centre in the North West will hold on June 29th. 

    Since 2019, the centre has collaborated with the National Archives of Iceland and the Skagafjörður Regional Archives on the creation of an open database of all preserved proceedings of arbitration courts that were active in Iceland in the period 1798 to 1936.

    The database is accessible to the public on the National Archives website, heimildir.is, and will be formally opened on this  occasion. The opening ceremony will be folllowed by a seminar about the history of arbitration courts in Iceland in the 19th and 20th centuries.
