    Adolescent dating violence: Understanding the experiences of adolescents with disabilities


    This project explores adolescent dating violence (ADV) experiences among teens with disabilities. It will provide an overview of two decades of existing research, examine the current status of violence prevention programs in Iceland, and investigate the lived experiences of adolescents with disabilities using an arts-based methodology.

    The evaluation is in two parts: First the doctoral student ‘s presentation of her report at 2 -3 pm in room O-205, Oddi. The presentation is open to postgraduate students and staff of the School of Education. The presentation will be on Teams: Join the meeting now

    Secondly, a review meeting for a discussion of the report. The meeting is open only to the doctoral student and the evaluation committee. The purpose of the evaluation is twofold, as the rules of the Doctoral School indicate: To evaluate the doctoral student‘s competence in conducting the proposed doctoral research project and to provide her with feedback to do this as well as may be.

    External examiners are dr. Kristín Björnsdóttir professor at the University of Iceland, School of Education og dr. Amy Pearson assistant professor at Durham University. Lead supervisor is dr. Jón Ingvar Kjaran prófessor professor at the School of Education, University of Iceland and co-supervisor dr. James Gordon Rice professor the University of Iceland, School of Social Sciences. Dr. Anusha Kassan associate professor at the University of British Columbia is an expert in the doctoral committee. Dr Annadís Gréta Rúdolfsdóttir is heading the evaluation committee and will conduct the evaluation meeting and Gyða Fanney Guðjónsdóttir will write the report.
