Student Orientation

The School of Social Sciences welcomes new students to introductory days, held at the University Centre (Háskólatorg) every year in late August. The events include short lectures about student counselling and short walks on campus. Moreover, representatives of student organisations and various service institutions at the University present their services. The School of Social Sciences invites new students to the University Cinema (Háskólabíó). Here, the Rector and the Dean will speak to students, before new students attend an introductory meeting, allowing them to meet the teachers and receive a guided tour around campus. Afterwards, the Law Students Association, Orator, invites students to a BBQ held outside Lögberg.

Embarking on studies at a foreign university is a milestone in every student's life. It can also raise many questions. We urge you to participate in the introductory days - you will get answers to most of your questions.

The Faculty of Law International coordinator is Sigrún á Heygum Ólafsdóttir, email: sah@hi.is, tel: +354 525 4376. Office hours are between 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. in Gimli G-127.
