Increased access for UI staff and students to diverse MOOCs on edX due to COVID-19

""

The University of Iceland, along with multiple other universities, is a participant in the edX network. These universities participate in the design and operation of open online courses. You can enroll in 2500+ online courses on the edX website (edX.org) from up to 50 different universities around the world. The courses on the edX website are diverse and you can see an overview of the offerings here.

This week, the University of Iceland, together with other edX partner universities, decided to open, free of charge, increased access for all teachers, students and other staff members that participate in the edX network. This action is intended to help universities cope with the challenges they face during the COVID-19 pandemic. UI teachers can use the content of the online courses as support in their teaching and students can download additional material and participate in a variety of online courses on edX.org. We hope that students, teachers and other UI staff will benefit from the MOOCs available at edX.org.

If you are interested in participating in online courses on the edX.org website, please email setberg@hi.is and you will receive a special identification code that gives you full access. Teachers can also apply for a class identification codes.
