Graduate student at the School of Business receives grant from the Icelandic Student Innovation Fund

Bjarnveig Birta Bjarnadóttir, graduate student at the School of Business, recently received a grant from the Icelandic Student Innovation Fund for a total of 900,000 ISK.

The research in question is titled „Social sustainability of the aluminium sector in Iceland – an inquiry into cultural values and gender equality“ and is supervised by Dr. Inga Minelgaite, Associate Professor at the School of Business, and Dr. David Cook, Post Doc in Environment and Natural Resources. The research addresses the possible impacts of aluminium industries on society.

The primary goal is to provide a better understanding concerning worker rights, equity, corporate social responsibility and gender equality in the aluminium industry, one of Icelands largest sectors.
