Close to 2,000 candidates graduate from the University of Iceland

Almost two thousand receive their diplomas in both undergraduate- and graduate studies from the University of Iceland tomorrow, Saturday 23 June in Laugardalshöll. Just as in previous years there will be two graduation ceremonies. 

The first ceremony, at 10.30 is for graduate students when 745 graduates complete their studies receiving 748  diplomas. The graduation ceremony is for students who are completing their graduate studies, i.e. MA, M.Ed. and MS. Among the graduates are the first students to graduate with an MA degree in applied psychology specialising in clinical psychology.

The latter ceremony, at 2 pm is for undergraduate students who are completing BA, B.Ed. and BS degrees.  A total of 1219 candidates complete their studies receiving 1222 diplomas. The first candidate to complete a BS degree in mathematics and mathematical education from the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences in collaboration with the School of Education, is among the graduates.

The diplomas will be awarded in the following order by schools: School of Social Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Humanities, School of Education, and School of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Diplomas from the School of Social Sciences will be 607 in total, 465 from the School of Health Sciences, 265 from the School of Humanities, 340 from the School of Education, and 287 from the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

The total of graduating students from the University of Iceland on 23 June is thus 1964.
