After two years guests are now welcome at the ceremonies to celebrate with the graduates, but there will also be live streaming for families and friends online.

Among the graduates are the first ones receiving their master’s degree in applied behaviour analysis and social education leading to professional qualification.

Jón Atli Benediktsson, rector of the University of Iceland will address both ceremonies and Sara Þöll Finnbogadóttir, who will graduate with a BA degree in political science, and Ingunn Rós Kristjánsdóttir, who will graduate with a BA in psychology, will address the guests on behalf of the graduates. The band Sisters (Systur), with Sigríður, Elísabet and Elín Eyþórsdóttir, will perform and entertain guests at both ceremonies, but they were Iceland's contribution to Eurovision in Italy last month.

The graduates from the University of Iceland in February were 455 in total making the total number, so far, this year of graduating students from the University of Iceland 3,049. Students due to graduate have received a letter with further details on the organisation of the ceremony and University staff will be on site to assist and guide candidates on seating arrangements.
