A new English website for the University of Iceland

A new and improved English website for the University of Iceland, english.hi.is, was launched today Friday, 23 March.  The website has been designed in accordance with the results of an extensive needs analysis within the University. All content has been revised and updated with a view to reflecting the Icelandic one as closely as possible.

After the launch of the new English website both sites will have the same appearance and similar structures. The website is built on the content management system Drupal, just as the former University websites, and programming was in the hands of the UI Computing Services. The basic design was in the hands of Hugsmiðjan.

The new website is scalable making it accessible in all devices; desktop computers, tablets and smart phones. This is vital as the group who only uses mobile devices to search for information; including their studies, is growing.

Even though the website is launched today, it will be developed further in the weeks and months to come. Observations from users on improvements are thus encouraged and welcomed. It is possible to send in comments from single pages on the web, or send an e-mail to efni@hi.is,
