The globalized academic world of humanities is known for its strict standards and its rhetorical stiffness. As studies in philosophy, literature or history are becoming more and more specialised, they also seem to be more standardised: peer-reviewed articles tend to look the same, and the publishers are sometimes reluctant to innovative propositions. Yet, it is not only possible to continue being creative in the humanities, it is crucial for their survival. Why and how?

Maxime Rovere is a philosopher and associate researcher at the IHRIM (Institut d'Histoire des Représentations et des Idées dans les Modernités) of the ENS de Lyon. A specialist of Spinoza, he works on the philosophies of the 17th century and on the Roman schools of the 1st century, while developing an "interactional ethics" at the crossroads of several contemporary currents (complexity, cybernetics and paraconsistency)
