Machine learning is being increasingly applied across a wide range of engineering disciplines. The Engineering Institute invites you to a seminar where young researchers will give insights into the principles of machine learning, and potential applications within the three Engineering Faculties.
Agenda
- 12:15 - Motivation and goals
- 12:20 - Ana Borovac, PhD candidate in Computer Science, will inform us about the principles of machine learning and how she is utilising it for biomedical signal processing.
- 12:40 - Milad Kowsari, post doctoral researcher in Earthquake Engineering, will talk about machine learning methods on the near-fault strong motion big data for Southwest Iceland
- 12:50 - Magnús Magnússon, MS student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, will talk about biomedical segmentation using deep convolutional neural networks.
- 13:00-13:10 - Discussions
