English author Ian McEwan receives the Halldór Laxness International Literary Prize in Veröld - House of Vigdís on September 19th at 11:30. Prime minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir will present the award after which Árni Óskarsson, the translator of many of McEwan´s works into Icelandic, will introduce the author and his work. Finally McEwan himself will speak about his fiction.
The event is free of charge and open to the public.
Eymundsson bookstore will be selling McEwan's novels outside the auditorium after the event and the author will be available for book signing.
