Changes are underway in Chilean society. These social changes are driven by feminist activists who fight for women´s autonomy and right to choose. The symposium discusses feminism and gender studies as a force for change in Chile and Iceland. In addition to the speakers, Hólmfríður Garðarsdóttir professor of Spanish, Latin American Literature and Cultures, and Þorgerður J. Einarsdóttir professor in gender studies will participate in the panel discussion. The meeting is moderated by Finnborg S. Steinþórsdóttir post-doctoral researcher in gender studies and Gyða Margrét Pétursdóttir professor in gender studies
