Chinese Movie Day: The Knot

Bringing together stars from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, The Knot presents an epic war romance spanning 60 years. Featuring grand battle scenes and location shooting in Fujian, Tibet, and even Canada, this blockbuster production tells a simple tale of love and remembrance against a momentous period in Chinese history. Taiwan and China of the 1940s come alive beautifully on screen through elaborate sets and advanced digital technology. Directed by Yin Li, The Knot stars top Mainland artists Chen Kun (The Little Chinese Seamstress) and Li Bingbing (Wait 'Til You're Older), Taiwanese singer Vivian Hsu (The Shoe Fairy), and Hong Kong starlet Isabella Leong (Isabella). In addition, the film also features an illustrious supporting cast including legendary veterans Gui Ya Lei, Yang Kuei Mei, and Chin Han.

With the country torn apart by war, Taiwanese youth Chen Qiushui (Chen Kun) is forced to flee to the Mainland and loses contact with his love Wang Biyun (Vivian Hsu). He becomes a military doctor and travels throughout China. Though his heart lies with Biyun  over by the sincerity of free-spirited nurse Wang Jindi (Li Bingbing). On the other side of the Strait, Biyun resolutely waits for her love to return.
