Book Launch: Languages Open Up Worlds - Words for Vigdís

Languages Open Up Worlds – Words for Vigdís is an English translation of the Icelandic Tungumál ljúka upp heimum – orð handa Vigdísi. We will celebrate the publication in Veröld on December 5 at 16:30.

Ásdís R. Magnúsdóttir, the editor of the book and chairman of the Vigdís Centre, will introduce the book. Vigdís Finnbogadóttir will sign copies and novelist Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir will read her own text from the book.

Written in honor of Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, the book contains texts by 27 Icelandic authors about languages. 

The book will be available for purchase at the event, in Icelandic, English and Danish versions. Special price at the event is 3.500 kr.

Right after the event, Christmas Around the World, a festive evening where the Múltíkúlti Choir and citizens from all over the world come together and sing Christmas carols in numerous languages starts in Veröld - House of Vigdís.
