Migratory birds are the true indicator of spring in Iceland. Tómas Grétar Gunnarsson, director of The University of Iceland's Research Centre in South Iceland will guide the tour in Grafarvogur where migratory birds gather in the mudflat.

The tour is part of the series "Hiking trips with Science tips" and takes about 2 hours.

Tómas Grétar will enlighten participants on the lives of the birds we will see so everyone is encouraged to bring binoculars and/or books on birds.

The hike is a part of the collaborative project between the Children Touring Association; a part of the Iceland Touring Association, and the University of Iceland. Participation is free of charge and everyone is welcome. Rendez-vous in the parking lot at Grafarvogskirkja. No need to book - simply show up.
