Welcome to Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences

The bachelor and graduate programs of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences provide degrees in the fields of biology, geology and tourism studies.

The curriculum covers considerable ground, from the smallest units of life, the working of genes and cells, to global changes in the environment and how it affects and is affected by mankind.

Multiple complex and serious tasks

Understanding humans and our place in nature involves careful contemplation and study of life and the environment.

The world today faces multiple complex and serious tasks, ranging from fisheries management, pathogens of serious nature, to sustainable management of resources. Empirical science can help us solving these tasks by understanding and working with nature.
