The University of Iceland does not charge tuition fees, but the annual registration fee is ISK 60,000.
Student counsellors, the Student Registration staff, and the staff of Schools and Faculties are all ready and willing to provide information and assistance.
The deadline and process of applications depends on applicants' origin and the programme applied for.
International students
The deadline for international students (other than exchange students) to apply for undergraduate and graduate studies is 1st February 2013 (academic year 2013-2014). Students from the Nordic countries are excepted and may apply for undergraduate studies until 5th June (with the exception of the Icelandic as a second language programme, for which the deadline is 1st February). Online applications open in early December 2013 for application the academic year 2014-2015.

Exchange students
The deadlines to apply as an exchange student are: EU/EEA citizens, 1 May for the autumn semester or a full academic year and 1 October for the spring semester only; non-EU/EEA citizens, 1 March for the autumn semester or a full academic year and 1 August for the spring semester only.
