Social Work and Gerontology

The Faculty of Social Work is a strong faculty within the School of Social Sciences at the University of Iceland. Social Work has been taught at the University of Iceland since 1981 and is the only university in Iceland to offer education within this field. Along with Social Work studies, the Faculty offers an interdisciplinary studies in Gerontology, partly in English.

Nordic Master´s Programme in Gerontology

The Faculty offers one study programme on the graduate level which is partly taught in English. The Nordic Master's Degree Programme in Gerontology (NordMaG), which was launched in the autumn of 2008, is a multidisciplinary and jointly implemented degree programme in higher education in the Nordic countries in the field of gerontology.
