Student life

The faculty places a  particular emphasis on  how new students are  received. At the commencement of their  studies, new students  are invited to attend a  meeting with faculty  staff, lecturers and older students. The  meeting serves to  introduce new students  to the operations of the  University of Iceland,  the faculty and the school and acquaint  them with the services available to students.  Individual subject  representatives at the  office of the academic  school pay a visit to  new students in a  lesson during the first  semester.

Students at the faculty run strong student associations that protect the students' interests and organise various events. The student associations create a platform for students to strengthen their social position within the university.
