Introductory session and evaluation examination

Classes in Icelandic as a Second Language for the next school year start Monday, August 27, 2018. The registration of students who will not have shown up in classes on September 6 the semester will be cancelled.

Introductory session

A specific introductory session for all new students is held in the week before, where the organization and the requirements for the study programmes will be presented. It is very important for all new students in Icelandic as a second language to attend this introductory session and to show up in classes in the beginning of the semester in order to have a successful semester.

Evaluation examination for advanced students in Icelandic

During the week August 20-24 students, who already have a good knowledge of Icelandic, are offered to take all 6 first- year examinations of the BA programme in Icelandic as a second language. Students who pass these examinations may advance directly to the second year in the BA programme. A special introductory session for these students will be held Monday, August 20 in class-room 101 in Árnagarður on campus at 11.30 a.m. Registration for the exams will be at that meeting.
