Icelandic as a second language

Studies in Icelandic as a second language are an excellent choice for students who want to improve their practical and/or academic skills in Icelandic.

Orientation meetings for foreign students are always held at the beginning of each semester, in late August for the autumn/fall semester and early January for the spring semester. You are required to attend.

Representatives from the following departments and organizations will speak at the orientation meeting to give new students a good vision of what to expect and to present requirements for the study program.

The School of Humanities will invite you to an orientation and welcome meeting at the beginning of each semester.

During the orientation week various other informational- and social events will take place.

IMPORTANT: All accepted exchange students are required to arrive before the orientation meeting regardless of when the start of the semester is in their school / faculty.
