Multiple complex and serious tasks

Sigurður Sveinn SnorrasonUnderstanding humans and our place in nature involves careful contemplation and study of life and the environment.

The world today faces multiple complex and serious tasks, ranging from fisheries management, pathogens of serious nature, to sustainable management of resources. Empirical science can help us solving these tasks by understanding and working with nature.

In short studies in geology, biology and tourism studies can reveal tendencies in ecological systems, guide our urban planing and land use, help us understand human behavior and disentangle the properties of cells.

Sigurdur S. Snorrason, Head of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences.
